Slingshot Weekly (8/6/25) | Step Into The Unknown

Aug 06, 2025

Let’s be honest: most people don’t quit because they don’t have talent. They quit because they waited too long for certainty.

We’re taught to believe that confidence comes first, and action comes second. But the truth is, it’s often the other way around. Confidence is built in the doing - not in the waiting. Imagine this: You’re standing in a pitch-black hallway. You can’t see the full distance, only the three feet in front of you lit by a flashlight. Every step feels risky. Every decision feels like it carries weight. But if you stand still, waiting for someone to turn on all the lights, you’ll never move. And the hallway stays just as dark. Progress, growth, transformation - it all starts before you feel fully ready.

Why? Because the path never reveals itself all at once. You uncover it one decision, one misstep, one brave move at a time. Every time you move forward, you gain clarity that standing still could never give you. And here’s the real kicker: You already know more than you think you do. You’ve navigated change before. You’ve taken risks. You’ve adapted to new circumstances, recovered from uncertainty, and made choices without all the answers. So why not trust that same version of you now?

We often wait for outside validation - a job title, a green light, a guarantee - before we believe we’re “ready.” But what if readiness isn’t a moment? What if it’s a mindset? You don’t need to know the entire plan. You just need to trust your capacity to figure it out as you go.

So if you're in a season of hesitation, here’s the reminder: You don’t have to wait for fear to leave the room before you act. You just have to move with it. Carry it alongside your courage.

Even when the path ahead is unclear, you can still choose to begin.

Because the only way to find the light switch is to start walking.

 Reflection Questions:

  1. What if you trusted yourself enough to begin - even without all the answers?

  2. What past experience reminds you that you can handle uncertainty and grow from it?

  3. What’s one decision you’ve delayed out of fear - but could take the next step toward this week?
