The Academy
Join our virtual guided group coaching program! This program consists of 5, 1-hour sessionswhere you and your cohort of like-minded individuals will work together with a certified Slingshot coach. Together, you'll apply the IDEAS Framework as you learn about your passions and core skills, explore job types in those industries, and develop a plan for your future.
Sessions will begin at 7pm PDT on a weeknight and last for 5 consecutive weeks. Worried you'll miss a session? No problem, they'll be recorded for you when you're ready.

Through a go-at-your-own-pace online course or a 5-session virtual program (called The Academy), we use the innovative IDEAS Framework to help young people explore their interests and skills. The Academy is made up of five 1-hour calls and the online course option is completed on your own time.
Our engaging and practical exercises are designed specifically for young people. They'll work on uncovering their unique skills and interests, exploring industries they love and building relationships with professionals to validate their ideas and grow their network.
With The Academy, your child will receive personalized attention and actionable advice with one of our certified coaches Through weekly one-hour virtual calls, your child will have the opportunity to connect with a diverse group of peers who are also navigating life questions. They can participate in group discussions and build meaningful connections with others asking the same life questions.

Tyler Lafferty, Executive Director/Founder

Passionate about career exploration, he created the IDEAS Framework to help young people align their skills with meaningful work. His book, Be More Like You, shares insights on purpose and fulfillment.

Ryan is an educator and adjunct professor passionate about guiding students toward purpose. With experience in K-12 and higher education, plus an MBA in progress, he helps young adults navigate career decisions with confidence and authenticity. Originally from Hawai’i, he integrates his cultural values into his coaching approach.
